Rambo Lambo Countach

We’re pretty sure this discovery is not the prototype for the Lamborghini Urus.  But while we’ve been waiting over two years for that car to hit the streets, one our readers spotted this at service station outside of Orlando.

We could laugh, but there is almost a link to Lamborghini’s past here.  After all, the final version of the Countach shared its V12 with the Hummer-like LM002.  Actually this Rambo-Lambo impersonator has enough American connections that it might be closer to the Lamborghini Cheetah prototype.

Fiberglass replicas of Lamborghini bodies like this one often hide a Fiero underneath.  But the only donor pieces from the mid-engined Pontiac on this mud bog exotic are found in the interior — everything from the seats right down to the ignition keys.

Of course an economy machine like the Fiero was never meant to leave the pavement.  So the rest of the car has received upgrades like a ladder frame, few extra feet of suspension travel, steel protection plates, and chunky mud tires.  The powerplant is still a General Motors unit, but the Fiero’s mid-mounted 2.5-liter four-cylinder was swapped for a small block V8 bolted to the front.

In the end, what we have is a budget mid-engined four-cylinder that was designed to mimic a sophisticated V12 supercar, but instead, it was modified to be hide a V8 mud truck.

Are we a bit confused? Possibly.
Are we amused? Absolutely.
